After a her master thesis about McCall
Glacier retreat (Alaska), Charlotte Delcourt
became a research fellow at the Laboratoire de
Glaciologie to study the polythermal structure of
McCall Glacier. In october 2007, she started her
PhD (F.R.I.A. 4 years scholarchip) under the
supervision of Dr. Frank
Pattyn and is interested in the influence of
subglacial and englacial processes on glaciers
dynamics. She uses radar techniques (RES, GPR)
and modelling approaches to determine the thermal
stucture and investigate the role of subglacial
hydrology and internal accumulation on the
polythermal McCall Glacier system (in
collaboration with Dr. Matt Nolan, Univ.
Fairbanks). |
