Caroline Jacques

Caroline Jacques studied bioengineering at the Catholic University of Louvain between 2008 and 2013, then carried out an Erasmus Mundus Master in Marine Environment and Resources between 2013 and 2015. She started her PhD in 2016 on the role of sea ice on the biogeochemical cycle of methane. In collaboration with the University of Utrecht and the University of Liège, she measures methane concentration and stable isotopic composition in surface waters, sea ice and atmosphere to determine the processes leading to methane formation and removal in these environments and assess its potential impact on the future atmospheric budget.
